Interesting to read another review on here about that they only wanted a quote. They certainly train their salespeople to `bully' you into buying. The salesperson also tried to get us to take their home scheme loan thing out which we refused. However we thought we were getting a good deal as the discount was good and Everest had been recommended to us.
To cut a very long story short, we cancelled the contract due entirely to personal circumstances i.e I lost my job a day after their `cooling period' so we were not able to proceed. Although we managed to cancel (we spoke to a nice lady in Customer Services who was our only saviour), the `harrassment' began in other departments, threatening letters sent with court action etc, the final straw being when the original salesman physically called at our home, uninvited. Yet again, he was pushing to get us to take out the home loan and Spanish inquisition asking if my job situation had changed!! On complaining by phone to Everest Head Office I was given an arrogant reply of `they can cold call when they like'.
Wrote a letter of complaint about the whole experience. We have yet to receive an official letter of apology from Everest's regional office. Even if we do, we will never deal with this company again - it was an extremely stressful, horrible experience.
My advice? Do not be taken in by their sales patter and `we fit the best' tag. Deal with a good, local firm. Judging by the reviews on here, their workmanship is pretty shoddy as well. Thank goodness we didn't get to the fitting product stage, maybe losing my job was a good thing.
