The rides themselves are amazing, which is why this review gets three stars not one.

First problem was queing to get into the actual park, we arrived late due to heavy traffic and the fact its a marathon walking from the carpark to the gates and some of the turnstiles didnt work tha tmorning. So feeling defeated we grabbed a map and decided to run to the rides. Arriving at Rita we ending up queing over an hour for a minute long ride, but the ride was fast and good. Ques didnt seem to go down at all, we qued another 2 hours for air because it broke down, an hour for the flume and about half an hour for congo river rapids. We even qued 10 minutes for a hotdog!

Second problem we had was the extremely bad signposting. It decided to heavy rain so we took a "shortcut" through the gardens, our worst idea of the day. The red arrows magically stop through the midle of the gardens and we were lost for an hour trying to find our way out! Not just for the gardens but everything, we had to ask directions to many rides throughout the day.

Third problem was fast passes. I know that they sell out but it seems that they sent us on a wild goosechase trying to find them. The woman at the main entrance directed us to a booth outside of Oblivion, after queing they directied us to ANOTHER info booth by the flume to be told that they've sold out completely.

By the end of the day, we were exhausted from the up hill walking EVERYWHERE, annoyed at the fact that we were so lost and the ques were so mammoth that we only got on four rides in the 7 hours we'd been at the park that we will never, ever, ever go back to alton towers.
