I've flown with American Airlines 4 times this year and everytime it's the same. Cheap and reliable. Individual inflight entertainment, average food. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is JFK airport itself. There's always a delay leaving there on ANY airline. It's the worst airport I've ever been to.
American Airlines, however, I can't fault them. 8hour flights are a breeze. Luggage turned up everytime. If you've booked a flight from London to New York then all is fine.
