Our group of four Americans (all in our sixties but strong hikers) asked India Holiday Home to provide a vehicle, a driver, and accommodations for a 20 days trip in Uttaranchal State. Four of those days we would need a guide and trekking accommodations. We would visit all four of the Char Dham religious sites, trek above Gangotri to Tapovan at 14,000', as well as hike to the Sikh pilgrimage site at Hem Kund and visit nearby Valley of Flowers.
We were very pleased with the trip and the services provided were excellent. The vehicle provided was comfortable. They were pleasant, helpful and resourceful and skilled at negotiating the mountain roads.
Hotel/inn accommodations were generally quite good and were the best available at remote villages. The trekking, camping facilities, and trekking meals were excellent.
This was a hard trip which included twelve days of hiking at high elevations with about eight to nine miles each day, either up or down. It was nice to have a driver and vehicle to take us to each place and to be waiting at the end of each trek. It was also nice to have a hotel/inn reservation at each place.
Having four in the group kept the per person cost down. We feel that we received excellent service and excellent value.
They were also able to help with all sorts of travel arrangements (rail tickets, etc.). We recommend India Holiday Home without reservation.
