On opening my account with natwest student, it was not made clear to me that of the many benefits offered, there is an extremely short time in which you must "apply" for said benefits, rather than them coming automatically with the account. As a result, as i didn't apply for my free student railcard within the first month (seeming as i already had one), the NatWest now refuse to issue me one for the whole 7 years they initially promised. After a lengthy battle with an extremely dismissive customer services department, i am moving my bank account to somewhere less dishonest and unfair. my advice - beware.
