I have had a Marks & Spencer card for several years. I have always paid my statement on time, maybe late by a day or two once. I consider myself a very good customer. Recently received a letter from Marks and Spencer, not sure if this is a standard letter, or one just meant for me, but the letter told me that they were increasing their interest from 17.9% to 20.9%. I was horrified and immediately wrote and complained. I'm waiting for a reply. The letter continues to say that I had a choice, of either continuing at the higher rate, or closing my account and paying off my account at the 17.9%. I asked them if they no longer wanted me as a customer, as this was the impression I received. I would appreciate to know, if any other customer has received such a letter and why? I have asked for an expanation, as yet have not received a reply. I'm hoping this is a mistake. I'm writing this review in the hope that some other customer is having the same problem. To all those who contemplating taking out a Marks & Spencers card - BEWARE!
