Avoid buying from mobilityequipment.co.uk. THEY ARE THE PITS !!

Avoid this firm at all costs.

Having agreed and paid a price of £499 for a very popular and reknowned Pride Elite Traveller 4 scooter, we made the grave mistake of asking if this was a good buy, whereupon we were offered AN UPGRADE WHICH WAS AN ECO 4 valued at £695. We did not smell a rat as the Go Go Elite is priced at the same locally.

They were to phone to advise when the scooter would be delivered and confirm the brand name.THEY NEVER PHONED. Next we knew a van pulled up outside our home and we were pretty furious to unpack some non-descript brand called KYMCO, which has ancient nuts and screws on it, and does not show on any search engine. The scooter looks old-fashioned and clumsy and we have only just taken delivery an hour ago. Will report back on it's performance later.

Needless-to-say, this website have obviously been down this road before and had all sorts of reasons why we could do return it to PLYMOUTH. Then we were told it would cost £91 to send it back.

I found this review very helpful because.I have also had same problem.. i ordered Pride mobility scooter and order was accepted. Got a phone call back a little later to say the scooter had been damaged but as gesture of good will they woukd upgrade and send a better scooter. I said I would like to think about it and was told no worries as I had missed despatch for that day. After speaking to my husband we decided we would prefer the Pride so rang back to tell them this - told too late the other replacement had gone out so we would have to pay £65 to cancell. We finally agreed to this and waited for refund. We have not had any money back and today was told by TNT that a scooter had been despatched yesterday (5 days after cancelling). Told TNT of this companies tactics and they are returning this for us. Have put a stop on credit card and been onto Trading Standards. Will let you know if we get money back.. BUT Please Please do not order anything from this company. I wish I had read about your experience first.

mobilityequipment.co.uk have NEVER sent any paperwork. All I had was the label on the delivery box not from MOBILITYEQUIPMENT.CO.UK BUT FROM THEIR SISTER COMPANY MORE THAN MOBILITY of the same address.

Luckily I had paid by credit card and since credit card providers are equally liable, I was able to get the full cost of the scooter refunded to my account. The scooter now belongs to my CC company but as soon as it is collected I mean to claim for expenses and stress, first from the CC provider or, failing that, via the Financial Ombudsman Services,(FOS) if necessary.

I need to put this bad experience in a more prominent online position, to attract other customers who have an issue with either mobilityequipment.co.uk or More Than Mobility, of Plymouth, Devon. As you can see, rogue firms get off scot-free. It is our duty to warn other disabled people of our experinces with this firm.
