On the 4 occasions I have been to Alton Towers (sadly only day trips), service has been excellent and the longest time I have ever had to queue for a ride was 100 minutes due to the ride being Rita and it had only been open a week. It is a beautiful theme park with great scenery which makes it a worthwhile walk through the park between rides. Food is reasonably priced and readily available and as long as you plan your day and try to stick with it then there should be no reason why you don't get on all the rides you want unless you want to go on every ride in the park!!! On every occasion I've been, I have managed to get on the big four roller coasters (Rita, Air, Nemesis and Oblivion) amongst other rides. If you want to get on all of the big rides then use the extended ride time given to hotel guests where they are let into the park an hour before the regular punters. For the experience you get it is value for money.
