where to start..
came on a 3 night break to Butlins Skegness on 17th july. on arrival staff on the gate and recieving keys were fab very friendly and welcoming. finally found our room- silver self catering! very far from the main parts and with a 3 year old and a 16 month old they found the disance bit of a walk but managed. the accomodation wasnt as expected to be honest the pic didnt look anything like it! (never judge a book by its cover comes to mind). haha. the rooms were good sized, the beds were ok and the kitchen was a good size!
down sides- all the holes in the walls, the most dirty sofa i have ever seen and the shower didnt drain, the people who were in before us had left a few of their things and the cleaner had not removed them, but as we were only there for 3 nights didnt want to kick up a fuss but for silver acc i would of thought it might of been a bit cleaner. but the plumber came in less than 24 hrs to fix the shower while we were out and sent us a text to let us know he had fixed it! fab staff yet again.
we took our own food as eating out is very expensive esp as we had 4 adults and 2 children! and also the shop there has nearly everything you might need but then at a cost.
we went on the beach on the last day due to poor weather their is an entrance to the beach through a gate at the back open between certain hours we clean beach and kids had fun!
there was a nice little area of rides for the small kiddies in bob the builders area which my two loved. there are also a few more at the main area of rides but only a select few and not many which small children can actually go on. but overall my kids loved the ones they were allowed on.
swimming pool was good very clean and well staffed. only one problem is the lack of changing rooms! but everyone seems to manage!
we saw a few shows on the night you need to be at the doors way before the doors open if you want a decent seat but then again we waited 30-40 mins found a table near the front at the side and found that all the rude people walking in half way through stood infront of everyone and when asked to move by various people still didnt move i had to go stand at the front of that crowd holding my 3 year old so he could see what we had waited 40mins for! but the circus was well worth standing over an hour for my son loved it. entertainment was brill.
we didnt see many redcoats either i remember when i went as a child they were everywhere, but it seems like they have cut down a lot.
handing room keys in was a bit confusing as you had to be out your room by 10am but can stay on site till 12. when i went to hand keys in i had no idea where to go, no one had said where to had keys back in ended up giving them to a cleaner!
overall value for money as we got it on a cheap deal but i wouldnt of liked to pay full price for the acc. if i go again i would go standard for the price difference and probs bed and breakfast! but at the end of the day the kids were happy and had fun which is the most important thing.

Centre Parcs say that is was due to refurbishment, I beleive it was due to labour costs at this quiet time of the year. Albeit still great choice in the eating department.
