Customer service appalling on this site, directions far from clear, sharp practice prevalent,

When you first pay Parship for a membership there is no indication or warning that they will take the next month's membership automatically and the month after that and the month after that ..
I was sure I had pressed the non automatic renewal button and it took 2 other members who I was at the time communicating with to tell me that I had to cancel my membership by writing . Otherwise money would automatically disappear from whatever account you first gave them.
Duly I checked, and wrote to the far from obvious e mail address to cancel - it also seems it is impossible to delete a profile without writing to them too although there is absolutely no indication of this on their site.
They require a 24 notice to cancel the next automatic payment - this I duly gave.
Money was still taken from my card and so far no amount of e mails to them has elicited a reply from a real person. I am still waiting for a reply, a refund and even an apology.
Would not recommend Parship to anyone just for reasons I've described.
Also have experienced part of the script being in German, as in other reviews here, and many other errors which should not occur on a well maintained site. Especially an expensive one such as this.
Also encountered a scammer from Ghana though to be fair I'd think they crop up all over the place BUT had the utmost difficulty persuading Parship that a scammer was on their site..

  Parship would like to respond to all reviewers who have raised concerns about our automatic renewal policy. Most organisations, whose revenue is subscription based - and this includes the vast majority of online dating companies - use automatic renewal to provide continuity of service to their members. Parship is no different and we would like to stress that we are not in business to mislead or take advantage of our members. After all, they are the life blood of our business.
  
  However, we are listening to our customers and have, as a result, improved our website to ensure transparency and fairness of our processes. The changes we have implemented include more clear flagging-up of automatic renewal upon purchase and sale confirmation (both onsite and in email communications) AND making it easier for our members to access and cancel the automatic renewal facility. Overall, our members will now be clearly advised and guided from various parts of the website with simple and clear instructions.
