My partner and I joined the Bannatyne's Worksop club nearly a year ago, paying £720 upfront for the year. On initial inspection, we were impressed with the appearance and friendliness of the club and that was our reason for joining. It soon became clear that cleanliness was an issue in the ladies changing area (men's area very clean). One of the cleaners spends 90% of her time chatting and actually said to me 'if it smells clean, it is clean' which I had to disagree with. We haven't used the gym area much as we joined for the swimming but the eqipment was dirty on our few visits. The spa pool has had many problems over the last year being out of action on many of our visits; we were told the water is changed every morning but we very much doubt this due to the algae build-up(likewise for the swimming pool).
After a year of being with this club, we have decided not to renew our membership. On informing the person in charge of membership, we were simply told 'just stop coming'. We were astonished that there was no attempt to ask why we were not renewing and obviously they couldn't care less.
Overall, we wouldn't recommend the club unless you like swimming/exercising in dirty conditions.

i reguarly use the worksop bannatynes club for both swimming and the gym area, i very much disagree with your comment about the ladies change area, i go in every morning and sometimes evenings, every time i go in i am very happy with the friendliness of ALL staff especially the 2 female domestics who have both been there over 2years and the only fault i have found is certain members who come in and look at you as if your something they have stood in and they just leave their USED tissues and other make-up products on the floor and on the worktops, IF THEY ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT HAVING A DIRTY CLUB THEN THEY SHOULD CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELFS as the domestics are being blamed for these inconciderate people leaving a mess.
also for the comment on the algae in the pool i have seen and witnessed the pool being cleaned on a regualy basis and as for the spa macanical things do break down, this is to be expected.
on numerous occasions i have seen the male domestics just walk past all the fluff and dust on the poolside floor and egnore it and leave it for the female domestics. my partner has on numerous occasions complained about the state of the male change area especially the male showers which he says are absolulty disgusting and the male domestic do not seem bothered about it at all.
the only other objections i have is the membership prices which are on the steep side but as i come every day i do get my moneys worth.
THE CLUB AND STAFF ARE VERY HELPFULL AND I WOULD RECCOMMEND WORKSOP HEALTH CLUB.
