We have just come back from a 5 night break at Butlins Skegness. We stayed in Gold and the accommodation is now starting to look very dated...top of tap missing in the bathroom. No hot water twice and rubbish TV picture all week...reported both, water sorted but told that they are up-grading to digital TV so we had to put up with rubbish reception. To top it all the bathroom light stopped working at the end of the week...could'nt be bothered to report it again! Pool changing rooms and toilets were not very clean. Bar prices extortionate...£6.80 for four cokes!! The beach gate closed at 5.30pm, so no evening strolls along the beach. They are only interested in getting people spending money after 5.30pm in the bars and arcades of which there are many! The shows were poor quality, no wrestling for the kids or Circus Hilarious during our stay. We noted that our week was the only week that these two shows were not been shown. People queued for over 2.5 hours for shows...sad lot!

We have been going to Butlins twice a year for the last 5 years and this was our worst experience. We will not be going back..Skegness needs some serious money spending on it.
