Ernest Jones are the worst jewellers I have ever had to deal with and customer service is unacceptable! My Fiance proposed to me on my birthday December the 5th and unfortunately the ring was too big. I went straight to Ernest Jones the next day where they suggested a swap but me being sentimental opted for a resizing which I was told was a possibility. My finger was then sized properly (yeah right!) and the ring was sent away. The ring was returned and it appeared too big. But being so excited to have my ring back I thought I would be fine. Within a few weeks a diamond went missing from the ring and I therefore returned it to a different store for a new opinion. They had said the ring was too big for me and they could send it to a different repairers than last time, the only problem was my engagement party was the next week! The ring was however sent away and returned on time for our party! My happiness only lasted another month when a diamond went missing yet again from the ring! I returned to the store in Lakeside where the ring was purchased to be told the ring had been discontinued! They said the ring had been so badly damaged that it was beyond repair (they did it!!!). The manager did, however, track down one last ring but it was too big, so the ring was sent away and resized! So far the diamonds are all intact but I dont hold out much hope for that lasting, I check them every day! I then asked what would happen to my original ring and they said it would be thrown away! My Fiance ,however, knowing how special it was to me arranged to purchase the ring back and we are arranging for my wedding ring to be made from it. They were kind enough to charge us £150 for the privilege of having a damaged ring which had less diamonds on it than when I left it there! This unfortunately is not the only problems I have had from the wonderful company that is Ernest Jones! Two years ago my Fiance bought me a ring from Ernest Jones as a Christmas present. I looked down at my finger the other day to find the strip of diamonds had pinged off! Luckily my mum found them. So only yesterday I went to Ernest Jones to complain (yet again!) to be told that it is a 'dress ring' which arent to be worn every day so its my fault it had broken! They were, however, kind enough to say that they would send it away but they would have to charge me! I could not believe the nerve of it and our converstaion ended with me saying thanks but no thanks I would rather send it away to a 'proper' jewellers who atleast have some expertise!!! By the way they do not gain any stars from me, not even a 0.000001!
