As regular, though infrequent traveller to Havana, the Air France option from Birmingham is a useful time-saver over travelling to London for a direct flight for residents of the West Midlands. The fares are good value, generally less than £500. Transit at CDG was delayed due to bad weather in Europe, and the plane to Havana being held back to allow other connecting flights from European cities to make their connection. The food on the plane was reasonable, as was the in flight entertainment. There were no delays on arrival in Havana, and luggage was waiting when we cleared immigration. Beware on returning not to bring duty free items off the plane in hand luggage; they will be confiscated! This is despite the items being transported for 9 hours from Cuba without problems; the rules about goods in transit through CDG are haphazard.
