Bridgfords Countrywide Estate Agents have recently complted a sale for us. We had to chase them all the way through the process. Their fees were exorbitant but the main complaint was the HIPs.

We were told that we required a HIP's pack and so we signed up for it (we were given the impression that it was a standard cost). We were amazed to be charged in excess of £500!

Please, if you are reading this.... don't use this company as they are not interested in your sale. Just every penny they can get from you!

I have found out since that HIP's cost from £170 upwards. One 'forum' said that estate agents are the most expensive way of getting a HIP because they charge about £350-£400. This is at least £100 cheaper than our 'robbers'.

The more they charge you, the client, the more commission they make.

Hope this helps to avoid you making the same mistake.
