I called Bennetts Motorcycle Insurance in June 09 to advise I had sold my motorcycle, this was some 4 months before my fully paid up policy was due to expire. I was surprised to hear that I would not receive anything back on the policy. The advisor then told me that becuase I had made them aware they would need to cancel my policy in 30 days which would allow time to transfer to a new motorcycle if required. No new bike, time elapsed and in July received a letter stating that I 'owed' them £30 for the cancellation fee. I called them in disbelief, but hit a brick wall, advising they would take me to court if not paid. So to sum up, they force a policy cancellation, grab whats left of my policy, then force a £30 cancellation fee for a policy I didn't want to cancel. "But it's a legal requirement" Never ever again will I use this company, I will have the pleasure though in November at the NEC bike show of speaking with them direct.
