I have been a customer of phonsafe (Homecare Insurance) for a number of years now. I insure my sons and my daughters telephones with them.
My daughter was assaulted and had her telephone stolen on saturday night. I reported the phone to T-mobile and they put the necesary block on the phone. I could not call phonesafe (homecare Insurance) on sunday because there were not open. WIth one thing and another i.e. telephoning police making statements etc. I did not get in touch with phonesafe until Wednesday. Within the two days of talking with the police I obtained crime ref numbers etc. I explained everything in detail to the girl at phonesafe for about 20 minutes only to be told that the claim was to be declined because I had not informed them within the 48 time limit. Never mind about the trauma of my daughters assult. I was furious. I thought i was a valued customer, while all my friends said dont take out insurance because they very rarely are on your side, I still had faith and carried on wih the insurance year after year with phonesafe (homecare). The girl listened all that time instead she should have just said at the beginning of the conversation that I could not make a claim. I asked her who i could appeal to - she gave me the details. I dont even think i will appeal as i think that they just want your money and will just wriggle out of their part of the contract !! I intend cancelling the insurance on both phones and my friends were right about phone insurance. I am livid, words cannot express the audacity of them to deny a loyal customer. If anyone is intending to get insurance through phonesafe (homecare) dont. There are loads of people that have been put in the same position as myself. At the end of the day I will buy a new telephone for my daughter this was not really the problem - the thing I am furious about is the lack of sympathy and the fact in their eyes black is black and time limits are time limits. To sum it up Phonesafe (homecare) to put it mildy STINK.

    I found this review very helpful because...I have found myself in the same situation.I've just spent a good 20 minutes on the phone with Someone from the Claims Department after telling her in the first 2 minutes of her 101 questions that I damaged my phone 3 days ago to only be told 20 minutes later that my claim has been denied due to being outwith the 48hours of the incident!never mind that I work for a living and that the claims department is only open during my working hours and I could not phone until my day off but that doesn't matter!It doesn't matter that I've been with them for a number of years and that they've taken a ridiculous amount of money off me during this time!Who knew that by claiming 6 hours outwith their 48hours was such a trouble to them!I then got an appeal website that couldn't be recognised until I've eventually found this site,yipee!I too will be cancelling my policy which obviously means nothing anyway!
