Just returned from 14 day trip to Mediterranean from Southampton. Very easy to access the Terminal from downtown Southampton. Norwegian Jade Crew excellent came accross as very efficient. The extra's on board are similar to the previous cruises we have taken. Namely expensive spa, overpriced duty free, examples boxes of Liquorice Allsorts $12 chocolate and candies at well above store prices. Tours wayover priced. Bad points include the pool area becoming a kids playground with parents ignoring screaming kids while they eat and drink. Also the Lounges become a nightmare if you want to listen to a band or show as the kids are still running around at 10.30 PM. It might seem cute to see 2 to 5 year old on the dance floor but I think the Entertainment Staff should have had a cut off time earlier than 11.00 PM plus. Cruising has changed and some aspects not for the better,
After midnight the 13 to 18 year old take over the ship and the security staff are nowhere to be seen. Examples cabin signs being changed from "Make up Cabin" to "Do not Disturb" consequently cabins not made up so no new towels etc, another example of todays youth. Moaning over. Most of the above can be avoided and you will have a fantastic time on board. Crew are really great. Overall a great time.
