I have been to see Blood Brothers 4 times now. My most recent attendance of it was 11/07/09. I was excited to see Niki Evans take the role as Mrs Johnstone as I have only seen a Nolan sister in that role. I must say that Niki gave the part everything she had. I found her voice spectacular to listen to and I believe that she gave a lot more emotion in "Tell Me It's Not True" than I have seen in any performance of it. Her acting abilities were surprising as she was very good and gave the role an overall more realistic feel to it. Those playing Mickey and Eddie (who, I discovered today, were portrayed by real brothers) were excellent also. I felt that they made the parts their own and didn't perform a carbon copy of other actors portrayals of the parts. I feel that, by far, the actress in the role of Mrs Lyons had the strongest voice I have seen of anyone playing Mrs Lyons. The rest of the cast also were excellent additions to the show and together it was an amazing experience. Overall, I really enjoyed my fourth trip to see this show and will definitely be going to see it again. Also, this is the only time, that I can remember anyway, that the audience gave a standing ovation, which the cast thoroughly deserved as they each gave fantastic performances and ended the show with a spectacular finale song. I would recommend anyone to go see this as it is not only an amazing show for those only interested in seeing a great show but it also highlights some issues such as the class system, which is still an issue even in todays modern society.
