I bought a Gosim sim card for my trip to Oz, the credit doesn't last long and when I tried to top it up I was unable to. I called customer services from my mobile but this is a charged call and the credit ran out half way through, they then refused to call me back. I had to buy a phone card to phone home and ask my family to do it from the UK. For some reason they were able to do it from there. In the 3 months I was away I needed to top up the credit 3 times. During the last month I had numerous problems with the signal, texts and calls were not getting through which meant I was unable to stay in touch with fellow travellers and family and friends as easily as I had hoped. Many emails were sent back and forth between myself and Gosim but they were very unhelpful. I asked for a refund of the last lot of credit and thought I would get and Australian sim card but again they refused. I was a young female travelling the country on my own and I felt safer knowing I could contact people if necessary or incase of an emergency. This concept was lost on Gosim. In future I would buy a sim card for a network in the country I am visiting, the tariffs are a lot cheaper and you get much better deals. My advice would be to just take an unlocked phone and get a good deal when you get there!!
