General Comments

from the point of reporting my car stolen. Customer service at Privilege Car Insurance is a joke! Could never get hold of my claim handler or any line management. Kept waiting on hold for ages every time I telephoned them. Never any updates on my claim, I had to make all the calls and do all the chasing.

They did not take my vehicle to the garage of my choice-main dealer where I purchased the car. Instead, sent it to what they referred to as 'an approved repairer'-a back street body shop is what I would call it, where it received additional damage, which they would not accept liability for and was subsequently written off.

The assessment of the vehicle was done by the garage and not the insurance companies engineer. I am not sure if this is standard practice? I had been told that it was written off before an engineer wasactually assigned to inspect my vehicle.

Finally received their decision on indemnity nearly three months after the car had been notified as having been stolen. Guess what? Yes they refused to honnour the claim. I am now having to take them to the FOS.

Any one entertaining using this company should think again! Remember, it's better to pay more and get something than than it is to pay less and get nothing. Try using this little formula and it should put you off:
P=DLine=BOS=Up the preverbial swanny!
