my wife and i decieded to purchase a new plasma tv from Currys, so went to our local store and were met by a pleasant sales person who advised us not to purchase a LG set as they were'nt the best however samsung were tops so we bought a 42 inch samsung with all the bells and whistles for £799 and we paid cash / not finance real cash and we were pleased they had a set we could take home with us the same day. went back to store approx 1 hr later and collected tv and installed it on february 29th 2009 ....worked superb up until 1st july when a huge black line appeared on the set and would'nt disappear, called currys and they sent an engineer out on the 3rd of july...we also took out the extended guarentee for 5 years at extra cost for peace of mind however imagine how we felt when the engineer told us he can't fix it todat it will have to be taken away for repair , only had the set for 124 days and now we have no tv....he said under the terms and conditions they had up t0 28 days to take the set away to fix it , if it can't be fixed in this time we can have another tv , however we have been without the tv for 9 days .we agree its not along time but we are paying for sky and sky+ and cant use it , no loan tv available they stopped doing this 4 years ago , no assistance from after sales they just said i should have read the smaal print, also threatened to stand outside the store informing possible tv purchasers of the small print but they said carry on they just dont want to know once they have your money,ironically a friend of mine purchased a tv from tesco and it went wrong too...he was given a new set on the same day as he reported the fault...moral to my story ..dont buy a tv from currys go to tesco...and check the small print first ...what happened to customer satisfaction..over the years we have purchased loads from currys but never again...they are too big to care ....just take your money and run merchants.


General Comments

currys don't care about their customers, take the money and run ,they should wear masks when selling their products (at least with dick turpin you knew you were going to get robbed)
