Good Points

No credit card fees to pay on Thomas Cook holidays booked with the card. Foreign exchange purchased at Thomas Cook using the card is treated as retail tranaction rather than cash advance.

Either way, after the way I've been treated and scammed with fees... neither good points are worth the hassle.


General Comments

Once this was a good card with poor customer service and frequent administrative errors. Now it is a bad card with bad customer service and won't admit to errors! Paid my last bill, in full , days before the due date.

They charged me 12 pounds because the direct debit for the minimum payment had been returned unpaid even though I had already paid the full balance on time.

I called customer services (unhelpful lot) an explained I had cancelled the direct debit mandate months earlier and had checked with my bank who confirmed they had sent a notice to Thomas Cook to advise it was cancelled.

TC said they never received any notification (convenient) so the charge stands even though the minimum payment didn't need to be collected because I had paid the balance in full.

TC refuse to refund the charge and they have charged interest on it too. How can they charge interest on a charge when you've not had chance to know you've been charged until statement arrives.

Thomas Cook... Shame on you! And shame on Barclays Bank as I understand they are the back office contracted to run the TC credit card. I'll avoid both companies in future. Bye bye Thomas Cook credit card.... and bye bye Thomas Cook holidays. You've lost a customer trying to make a quick buck with unfair charges.
