General Comments

Delta SUCKS. BE AWARE OF THEIR SCHEME. Myself and two other people were scheduled to fly out of Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale on June 30 @ 4 pm. We arrived at Delta's curbside luggage check in at 3:10. When we got there no other customers were there, only a Delta representative. He took my luggage, put it on the scale, and weighed it. He asked me my name and I gave it to him. He proceeded to put the information in the computer. Then he took the other two people luggages, put them on the scale and weighed them. He then asked us what time does your flight leaves? I told him it leaves at 4:00. He said, "I was hoping that you say 5:00, because the computer has locked me out and I can't process your luggage from out here." He then told us that we will have to go inside because he can't process our luggage. I asked why, and he said, "because the luggage won't make it through the process to get on the plane with you." I said to him, "you are telling me that it takes over 50 minutes to get luggage through the process and on the plane." I told him to go on and process the luggage and if it does not make it on the plane with us it will be okay for it to arrive later after us to our destination. He then said that the computer had him locked out and he could not process the luggage therefore the luggage won't make it through the process to be on the plane and WE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE PLANE BECAUSE THE LUGGAGE HAVE TO BE ON THE PLANE WITH US. He SAID THEY NO LONGER LET THE PASSAGERS GET ON THE PLANE WITHOUT THE LUGGAGE BEING ON THE SAME PLANE with them. He told us to go inside because we will have to rescheule our flight to a later time. We went inside and asked for help and was told that we will have to get in this long line in order to get help. I asked "why do we have to get in that long line?" I was told because we will have to reschedule our flight to get on the next flight that goes out to Fort Lauderdale and it will be an additional fee of $50 per ticket, a total of $150 in additional to what we had already paid for the tickets. I expressed to the guy that I felt that is unfair to us to have to pay additional fees and it s not our fault that they can't get luggage processed in time to get on our plane. This guy did not care about what I was saying, he continued to tell me to get in that long line and they will help me. We got in line and had to wait 40 minutes before we got up to the desk. It is now 3:55. When we got to the desk, we were told that they had no seats available on the flights that was going out on that same day. BUT, THEY CAN PUT US ON A FLIGHT THAT GOES OUT THE NEXT DAY, AND IT WILL COST US AN ADDITIONAL $547 PER PERSON. I told him that we could not afford to give them an additional $547 per person. The guy said that was all that he could do for us and he apologize for them not being able to process our luggage in time for them to get on the plane with us. We asked if we could do stand-by and were told that Delta no longer does stand-by. I called customer service several times to see i there was anything that we can do to get a flght out on this same day . Each representative told me that there were no available seats on the flights that were going out on that same day. So we had to get a car an drive to Fort Lauderdale. It took us 9 and a half hours to get there. What a great inconvince. The next day called Delta customer service again and and were told this time that they have no record of where we tried to check-in and that is considered as a no show and we will lose all of our money. This is not good customer service. I am going to continue to pursue this issue because I will not sit quietly and let Delta take my money.
