I watched Milk on a plane. I could not decide which film to choose and in the end i went with milk because of Sean Penn's oscar success and a friend's recommendation. I really enjoyed the film, it was a powerful and very moving drama based on the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be voted into major public office in the United States. The film is set in San Francisco, mainly in the Castro district. San Francisco is a beautiful city (from which i was actually returning when i watched Milk) and so it was fun to spot all of the locations we had been to. I don't want to give away any of the story line, but i thought Sean Penn's oscar was thoroughly deserved and the film had me in tears by the end.
