Good Points

Just now and again, you get to speak to an operative that cares. You need to keep access to those few people as they are like gold dust. Sadly, the good ones move onto bigger and better things, often outside the bank.

Bad Points

International personal is resoundingly poor. It 's a joke that it 's meant to be a flagshipservice. They recently acknowledged receipt of, Will, probate, birth and marriage certificates, then promptly lost the lot !!!! I got credited with 50 pounds for "inconvenience caused". The lack of professionalism is astounding. I 'm voting with my feet after 40 years.

General Comments

I started banking with Barclays, by default as a student when Martins Bank was taken over by them some 40 or so years ago. Since then, natural inertia has kept me with them all this time. In those days, I used to call in on the manager every 6 months or so and we 'd chew the fat as to how we collectively saw the future. When he moved in the early 70 's, that was the start of depersonalisation of banking for me. Centralisation, remote call centres, disembodied voices on the end of the line, it 's gone downhill since the early days. That 's progress I suppose?
