mis-sold guardsman furniture protection so they could increase their sales and bonus!
General Comments
I purchased 2 sofas at the Dartford SCS Sofas store in 2006. After being practically stalked around the store for an hour or so we found a sofa we liked and decided to buy. All was running smoothly until the salesman started forcing guardsman furniture protection onto us! it cost around £300 to have the 2 sofas 'coated' but we decided to go ahead as we have 2 small boys.
However, it is now 2009 and I have just called guardsman as the sofas are looking a little tired and dirty due to stains that are impossible to remove. Only to be tiold that cleaning isnt covered and the policy only covers accidental spillage like red wine! I was told cleaning would be covered and could call guardsman anytime within the 5 years to clean them as 'stains would not be an issue with this miracle cover'. Do not buy sofas from SCS. They stalk you around the store and then force you into buying furniture protectioin that doesnt cover anything
