Good Points

I really like the adjustable 2 stage trigger. As well, I was impressed by the spring guide being nicely fit to the spring, unlike my Winchester which may as well not even have a guide. Overall, it's a pretty good rifle for being Chinese made.

Bad Points

The safety can be inadvertently turned off, as it is pull for on, and push for off even though it automatically engages when the gun is cocked.
The break does not have enough initial free travel to allow for cleaning the barrel without cocking it. Which means that once you've cleaned the barrel, you'll still need to chamber a round, and take it back out to fire one last time.

General Comments

I just purchased the Ruger Air Hawk from a local Big5 during a sale. The rifle was a pretty good buy for $119. I'd read up a bit about it, and followed some of the tips about sanding the stock a bit to allow a slight space between it and the compression cylinder, as well using a bit of loctite on the muzzle break, sight mounts, and the 2 bolts on the stock located under the barrel break. The original scope was crap right out of the gate, but Big5 promptly changed that out without hassles. Once these adjustments were made and the scope sighted, it proved to have consistant power and very nice accuracy at the 35-40 yard target range I have set up at home. I use the Beeman Pell Seat tool, and a drop of 3-in-1 oil on each round just at the pellet's narrow mid section, and find a good consistant high velocity and improved accuracy.
