There's other airlines to choose from.
If it went bankrupt or was investigated.


Bad Points

Poor English customer service over the phone. Expect to get hung up on while waiting at some distant airport halfway around the world.
Passing a gallstone would be an enlightening experience.


General Comments

My experience with Iberia was horrible. I paid a round trip ticket from Madrid to Valencia. Long story short choose any other passenger airline when ever your are offered Iberia. With Span Air, if you miss the flight they will accommodate for you by arranging you on another but not Iberia.

My flight began originally from Portland OR (PDX) and to arrive in Valencia, Spain. Majority of the flight was through Continental but a mishap in Newark had me stay over night and placed me a day late for my Iberia connecting flight in Madrid to Valencia. Iberia would not allow me to take a flight a day late even after explaining everything while talking to their poor english customer service over the phone (even getting hung up during one call while in Newark).

I asked Iberia if they would even honor the second half of the round trip allowing me to fly from Valencia to Madrid. Their response simply was no, since I missed the first flight they would not allow me to have the second flight. Thanks Iberia, my girlfriend had to ride out on a 10+ hour bus ride, one way, from Valencia to meet in Madrid and we rode that again to make up for the denied second half of the round trip ticket since the Iberia corporation could get away with international petty theft.

Just to note, even Continental Airlines customer service desk in Newark said that they didn't want to have any business with Iberia. That says a lot. They did not even want to talk to Iberia, but they did explaining the mishap of Continental on missing my connecting flights. They got no further than I could accomplish. I do endorse Continental for going out of their way in helping.

If you miss the first flight of your round trip don't expect to have the second half. You just bought yourself a nonexistent service. Go with Span Air etc. If Iberia just allowed the second half of the round trip ticket I wouldn't even be writing this negative report. Avoid them like the plague.

Just for further clarity, I bought my tickets separate through each airline carrier and never experienced such hassle until Iberia. I'm staying with Span Air or similar honest business airline.
