General Comments

Do your research before buying a new Aprilia RS125FP. I bought one and soon realised that the bike no longer produces 30 bhp+ and can not go at 100mph+. The forever tightening emissions laws restict the performance to 85mph and 10600rpm. There are tuning parts available like racing exaushsts and larger caburettors and so on but there is no point in fitting any of these parts unless you remap the ECU and as far as I am aware of an after market ECU that will let the bike rev over 10600rpm is only available for the pre-2006 model. Also when I ran the bike in the low revs seised the power valve which took £120 to fix which Aprilia refused to pay with the warrentry. Aprilia's customer services are shocking. I sent them a letter once explaining a few problems I was having with the bike and they replied saying they were not going to help and my warretry was invalid for some reason. This was only two months after purchasing the bike and it's supposed to have a two year warrentry. Four mounths after I bought the bike despite my best efforts to look after it the engine seized and the garage have sent a report to Aprilia to see If the warrentry will pay for it. Overall this bike has been a miserable experience and I advise anybody to not go near one. I think the old model is better because they are not as resticted by emissions laws, you can tune them and they were not built to a budget. My point is the new Aprilia rs125 is crap.
