Good Points

Pineapple flavour lovely. Harder than most other gums so you get a nice "chew" from them.


Bad Points

The nice liquorice flavour swapped for evil synthetic tasting blackcurrant nastiness - edible but taste more suitable to a throat sweet.


General Comments

These Sports Mixture are harder than most other gums, even though they are softer than they used to be when they were made by Lions (which isn't a good thing). All the flavours except the black one are gorgeous, the black one used to be a kind of liquorice flavour which although unusual and as I child I wasn't fond of, became one of my favourites as my taste buds matured. Unfortunately, some marketing bod at Maynards has replaced this original and unusual flavour with a generic blackcurrant throat lozenge style instead. I still eat them but they aren't nice, having the liquorice was what made these sweets unique - not every change is for the better!
