Service was good at Franco's. We were welcomed and sat at our table by the waitress, who was friendly and polite.
The dining room is not very large and is situated below ground level. The decor is perhaps a bit rustic, but the atmosphere is welcoming and intimate, with subdued - and flattering! - lighting.
The food was excellent: the Bruschetta was two generous slices of toasted bread with lots of tasty fresh tomato, olive oil and basil. The tomato and aubergine pasta, a Sicilian classic, was again very good. A generous portion of tasty, well cooked sauce, with pasta cooked to perfection. The fruit salad was varied and well presented, and entirely made with fresh fruit, ripe enough to be naturally sweet.
Everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere was good. The pizza proved too large for one of us and the remaining half was promptly offered in a take-away box.
Bad Points
I can't think of any. It's a pity that Devizes is a bit too far from Bath for this to become a habitual venue for us.
General Comments
We chose Franco's Ristorante for our Italian class end-of-year dinner because some of us had already been and recommended it.
We were a party of twelve and when the booking was made we agreed on a subset of the menu to make ordering easier.
The menu offered included a selection of starters, main courses and desserts. I chose bruschetta, pasta with tomato and aubergine sauce, and a fresh fruit salad
