Good Points

Great customer services people-it really must be hard for them at times but they're always willing to help you as best as they can (that's the people on the phone by the way- NOT the company itself!)


Bad Points

First I made a claim and had my car taken away to be assessed by their engineers etc. Two weeks later I'm still without a car (you don't even get a courtesy car at this time-not until they actually decide to do work on your vehicle!), and continuously calling up the company to find out what is going on. Had I not called it seems doubtful that i would have heard anything for some time, as even then the people I spoke to had to chase up the garage. Secondly, the value of the repairs was quoted well above what TWO independent mechanics had evaluated ( £1000 compared to under £500). Apparantly the garage had taken into account 'other damages' etc that I was NOT claiming for (e.g. a few panal scratches at the back from careless children) rather than a headlight replacement at the front (from the accident i was claiming for). Even when this was resolved the insurance company refused to have to pay for the less than £500 work (of which i would be paying £250), saying that it was STILL less than the car. Thirdly, the car has been evaluated at £2500...so how does that work then??? Finally, I have no choice but to take my car back and get it done with one of the independent engineers who evaluated it first (im a student and cannot afford to have my car written off-not to mention have it written off for less than its actual value!). They refuse to cover for that, saying that thier paying between £80-250 for the independent work is not 'economically feasible given the value of the car', but yet they'd rather pay out threefold that amount to me...not sure how that is logical?! Oh and by the way, they have my car (took it away by recovery vehicle because its not roadworthy) but because i don't want to have it written-off (like i said, I CANT AFFORD IT, hence i brought comprehensive insurance in the first place!!!!) I have to find my own way of getting my car back from the garage-real nice isn't it???


General Comments

Where do I start??? Absolutely awful service from Diamond Car Insurance, and once my 6 motnhs are up I am leaving this company and would NEVER recommend them to anybody unless you want to be (i) greatly inconvenienced (ii) left in the dark, and having to chase them around for things (iii) RIPPED-OFF!!!
