Good Points

It was a dandy little gun while it lasted, compact size, easy to use, very little or no maintenance, simple design and fairly rugged.

Bad Points

I feel that the fibre optics were a bad idea, as mine broke within a month, and I could shoot just fine with a mangled front sight. The metal for the "shroud" covering the actual barrel was bad. it wore out quickly, resulting in a gun that generated less pressure and power. Did I notice it? Not really. Really, the only bad point is, it wore out after approximately 30,000 bb's. And the fact that I loved taking it apart probably helped to ruin it.

General Comments

The Daisy Grizzly 840 is a good little gun. The build quality could be a bit better, but then you would have to pay for it. It is very accurate for a smoothbore. The nature of the pump dictates no leaving it pumped for prolonged periods of time, it will ruin it. Pump now, shoot soon. Shooting pellets, the velocity is slower, as they are generally heavier than BB's, but the accuracy, (if possible!) is better. Do not try shooting tooth picks in this gun. I did, (3, actually) and I still regret it. They jam, and the only way to get them out is to cut the barrel off. The velocity is by some standards, lacking. For a BB gun, it's just fine. I would buy another if I had the chance, as I need a low powered weapon. I feel that there is really no feasible way to improve this gun other than use better quality metals in the cunstruction. It is otherwise PERFECT!!! ; ^ )#
