Good Points

Nemesis and Oblivion are great rides. Pretty setting.


Bad Points

VERY overpriced, and...everything else, really.


General Comments

If you go to Alton Towers during the summer or easter holidays, or the run-up to either of these, it will be one of the worst days of your life. The queues for Nemesis are often 4 HOURS long in summer, and the dirtiness of the park is just beyond the pale. Customer service is never brilliant, and the food is pretty awful, particuarly for coeliacs such as myself, as in - there is nothing for me to eat. Spinball Whizzer, Rita and Air aren't worth more than a twenty minute queue. Oblivion could be pushing it to half an hour, and Nemesis is so downright AMAZING i could be pushed to wait for an hour. However, it's not as though you'd find such queues.
The gardens and castle are utterly beautiful, but it's very sad to see them so badly kept. Other than Nemesis' theming, it's horribly tacky, and because everything's so spread out it takes about half an hour to walk from one ride to the next. The park itself is very hard to get to, and queues block up the roads for miles into the neighbouring villages. Unless you're willing to pay another £10, you'll have to use the normal parking which involves another £2 fee and a monorail ride which has a queue often forty minutes long.
Ouch.
