Good Points

It will work well with several big BUTS

Bad Points

If you don't already own one, you may want to forget about buying it. My "solution" basically uses the machine as a wet vac with a brush cleaner.

General Comments

THIS CLEANER WILL CLEAN YOUR CARPETS AND CLEAN THEM WELL but forget about using the auto solution dispenser ans forget about "auto heat." After 4 years I've finally gotten this dog to hunt. Here's what I do: First make sure it's clean inside and out. Disassemble it per the instructions to get those nooks and crannies. If it won't spray hot water first make sure the outlet is free of debris and the filters are clean. Fill the water tank and the cleaning solution solution tanks with HOT water. Turn the machine on and press the dispensing lever for 5 seconds, then release for 5 seconds. Continue doing this until the crud is flushed from the system and hot spray comes from the floor head. Do it until the cleaning solution dispenser runs out. There's a little red plastic spinner inside a clear plastic cap. If it's spinning when the lever is depressed but no hot water is spraying, there's probably a clog in the slots on the bottom where the hot water sprays out onto the carpet. Once you get the spray to work, make your own cleaning solution in a large salad bowl. Use a cup of carpet cleaner, add 4 oz of Mr Clean or equivalent (full strength from a bottle), and about 2 oz of HE clothes detergent. Fill the remainder with HOT water. Then fill the dispensing tank with HOT water and set the dial on the machine to WATER ONLY. Use a soft bristle brush attached to a handle. Wet the brush with the solution and slop it on the carpet. Spread it around and scrub a 3-5 ft square area. Use the machine to suck up the foam then flush (using the spray from the tank) and suck the solution from the carpet until the liquid flowing through the machine looks clean. Lot of work isn't it?? BUT, I was able to get a high traffic and very dirty area clean. The area hadn't been cleaned for nearly 5 years!

It's VERY important to thoroughly vacuum the carper first.
