Although the operator was unsupported and unable to handle the situation she remained courteous (but useless) under pressure
Bad Points
The entire experience. I have revoked both subscriptions to First Call.
General Comments
Broke down with a significant problem just off Jct 9 on the M40 on the A34 at 23.00. Response time very long (almost 2 hours). I was en route south to Southampton but First Call insisted the car be taken to a depot in Gloucestershire and then to a garage of their choosing the next day. Offered £40 towards overnight accommodation (only vacancy was £125) and proposed to leave me stranded.
It would have been less expensive and much better if they had simply agreed to complete my journey a time of 1.5 hours in the recovery truck (75 miles). In the end I made seperate arrangements and the First Call subscription was useless. Member for 5 years (2 cars) and no previous claims so I WAS a good customer.
