General Comments

I was pleasantly surprised when I bought this gun. Before purchasing it I had read many horror stories about Chinese quality control and I was expecting to get a gun that would require a lot of work. Fortunately the gun I received was perfect. It is equal in quality to the RWS Model 48. In some areas it is actually better. Unlike the Model 48, all of the B-21's parts are metal. Not only are they stronger, but they also look much better. I like the parkerized finish more than a blued finish. It was applied evenly and looks great. It is also much more durable. I accidentally brushed the barrel against a metal door frame and the finish scratched the door frame. The stock was also nice looking. I am not familiar with the type of wood but it has more grain than many of the beech stocks found on much more expensive guns. It has a nice looking satin finish on it. I was amazed at how smooth the gun was right out of the box. The cocking effort is very reasonable. The gun also has a very effective anti beartrap feature that makes it very safe to shoot. The trigger was initially around 8 pounds but it is adjustable down to around 3.5 pounds. Since it is a heavy gun, there is little felt recoil. It still moves enough to make a scope stop a necessity. I have a Center Point 4-16 X 40MM mounted on the gun and so far I have not had any issues with scope shift. Mine is .22 caliber and is ideal for hunting. This is not a good gun for beginners however. It is heavy for an air rifle and takes a good bit of skill to shoot accurately. It is very hold sensitive and hard to shoot from and offhand position. Once mastered it is very accurate. I can put 5 pellets into one ragged hole at 20 yards. A great rifle for a beginner to try would be one of the lower powered Chinese sidelever rifles such as the Tech Force 58. For the price there is no better rifle than the B-21. It can compete with rifles that cost many times more. I would recommend that anyone looking at purchasing a RWS model 48 also take a good look at the B-21 or the B30-1.
