Good Points

All fine when there are no problems


Bad Points

Terrible at sorting out problems - never spoke to the same member of staff at the call centre twice despite asking to. No one seemed to be keeping an accurate record of the problem and had to explain again every time I called. Staff at Nationwide branch told me they couldn't do anything either as all they could do was phone the call centre on my behalf - which they did try to do but to no avail. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.


General Comments

Had the card for a number of years with no problems. Until I sent a cheque payment of £150 which they paid towards my credit card account. The cheque cleared and the money came out of my current account. The following month I received a statement which said I had missed the previous months payment, the £150 had been added back on again as though I had never paid! - this was despite them having received and cleared the cheque. After getting in touch I was told they had never received the cheque and I would be charged for missing a payment. I had to get copies of the cleared cheque from my bank - at a cost to myself, which had "cleared by nationwide" stamped on the back it. (They lost the first copy and i had to send again.)They still denied having received it. Numerous phonecalls to them failed to resolve the problem. It had to be referred to the FSA after two years of trying to get my money back from them. The FSA sorted it out and I got my money back from Nationwide.
