i thought that the m&s brand actually counted for something, but it obviously dosn't.


General Comments

On the 5th JUNE, I accepted an on-line quote from M&S. When the paperwork arrived shortly after I noticed that they intended to keep my card details and renew the insurance automatically without my express consent. Furthermore it requested details of the manufacturers imobiliser. I emailed the address on their paperwork straight away to inform them that I do not have a manufacturers imobiliser as I had stated in my application and would appreciate their written confirmation of such, and to request that they delete my card details from their records in accordance with Data Protection Act regs. If any details such as the imobiliser are incorrect it would be grounds for insurers to refuse to meet a claim, so I asked for written (email) confirmation that my imobiliser was not manufacturer fitted.
I received a notice that my email was undeliverable. So I phoned them and was told that it had recently been changed. I emailed them again to the latest email address.
My second email was returned as undeliverable, so I phoned them again and was given a personal email address of one Leon. This one reached him alright, and I received a reply saying I would get a PHONE CALL.. When they called I told them I required confirmation in WRITING, not VERBALLY, and continued emailing Leon several times up until yesterday, when I threatened to write this review. He phoned today 25th JUNEand spoke to my wife who again told him that confirmation in writing was required but all he offered to do was to phone me back.
