Bedroom quite adequate with a good bath/ shower. The towels refreshingly large. Food in the restaurant was of a good standard.
Bad Points
Noise and view as mentioned above. Size and furnishings not up to the standard of other rooms although the cost of the room is exactly the same as much larger rooms with excellent views. Booked with a party and it was indicated that rooms were allocated on a random basis. Not correct, as rooms allocated as we checked in. I responded to a request for anyone prepared to stay on the top floor. When I offered it was rejected when it was known that I was a single traveller. Both single travellers in the party of 24 were given the two worst rooms, twelve and eleven. Random???
General Comments
Why cannot hoteliers be honest and say that they do not welcome "single travellers?". Although substantial supplements are paid single travellers seem always to get the "bum" rooms. In Bushmills, Giants Causeway Smugglers Inn, room twelve has a view of the roof, a few feet away, together with the fire escape and downwards to the kitchen bins. However the worst aspect is the switching on of the kitchen extractor at 0645 each morning which has the effect of having a motor cycle outside your window. 0645 may just be acceptable to business travellers during the week, but not for a holiday break! An early night is also quite impossible because of the extractor noise.
