General Comments
We have a nine year old Boxer and have made some vetinary claims over the past for irritant bowel problems and a small operation. Just got the renewal and it is 200% last years premium. On telephoning M&S I was told it was because of the age and breed etc. Fair enough but 200% thats one hell of an increase it is more than my car insurance.
The main issue is that if you shop around and look at the policy documentation you will find that any 'Pre Existing' medical problems are not covered. So you have two choices either pay the renewed Marks and Spencer Pet Insurance price or take the risk with a different insurance company at a lower premium and hope that no pre existing problem occurs again. Basically, they have got you over a barrel. For me one of the most important parts of the insurance policy is Third Party liability because you don't want to be sued should your dog say cause a road accident worse scenario etc.
Looks like we will have to pay but not at all happy with M&S.
