General Comments

For years I have always flew with U.S. Airways, and I would NOT repeat this mistake ever again!
Last week my family and I were in San Diego on vacation. In the morning on our day there, we received an automated call from U.S. Airways notifying us that our flight was canceled due to "aircraft maintenance". It was such a pain to reschedule! The phone number included in their message kept leading us to their automatic self service. We needed to talk to a real person! Finally we arrived at the counter. First they asked us to stand aside because they needed to service their precious first class customers. When it's our turn, they asked us to call that useless phone number I've tried a dozen times at the hotel. I told them that we did, and I would not forget their confused facial expression and they said, "Um...we were told that you called that number." Poor management right there for ya!

I booked a ticket for my elderly mother. She just realized that she gave me the wrong departure date. We needed to simply change the departure date on the ticket to the next day. When I called and explained our situation, this U.S. airways representative wanted to charge us $150.00 for changing the flight. I refused to pay that ridiculous and senseless charge and told her that changing flights means they still have our business, but when they try to slap that fat fee on me, they'd lose all future business they will ever have from me, my family, and my friends. She wouldn't budge, and lectured me on the importance of this airline policy. I told her it's not a reasonable policy, and I would understand for this policy to be a penalty on cancellation, but for changing flights?
I asked to speak to her supervisor. Then she waived the fee as a one time courtesy. Thanks U.S. Airways. I would not need it again, nor would my family and my friends.
