David Gray's review of Webley Vulcan

★★★★★

“Have had my Vulcan carbine with 'silencer' for 10...”

Written on: 19/06/2009 by David Gray (1 review written)

Good Points
Mega-powerful. Feels like a .303 rifle to hold. Maximum kudos. Big thump as shot releases. Teaches you how to handle a firearm. Sitting up and breaking the barrel teaches you to re-set your shooting position quickly and releases tension that bolt-action guns can give you. Shoot it and put it away. No other kit required like chargers.

Bad Points
Only that there are not millions of them. If you see one BUY IT!! OK, one more bad point - wife says it can't stay in the bed with us anymore.

General Comments
Have had my Vulcan carbine with 'silencer' for 10 years. Don't find it heavy - if anything, compared to pre-charged weapons it's rear-weighted and feels fabulous. Doesn't rattle. Have standard scope and just shoot targets as practice for firearm shooting down the TA range. The spring recoil gives a feel of a much bigger cartridge weapon like an SA80 (really!) and lets you get used to the rifle jumping off target after each shot - just like a semi-auto firearm. Pre-charge rifles may be 'bling' but they are dull dull dull compared to one of these monsters. Being a Webley it has cache like a Lee-Enfield and anyone who pokes fun will be seen as a twit by the experienced shots. Either spend £1000 on a pre-charged or get a Vulcan.
