Appalling delivery service! I ' ve ' received ' my mattress this morning. The main entrance gate to my flats is on 1st level. The driver called my mobile to tell me I need to go outside and collect my mattress as he ' s not going to carry it up the stairs. I ' ve asked him very politely why (and wanted to say that the whole point of home delivery is to have the goods delivered to your door, isn't it?) but he was quite rude and told me he ' s not going to argue (?) with me for half a day over the phone and that he ' s not going to carry it upstairs as this is against the company policy! At the end, my friend had to meet the driver on the street and carry the mattress home. Having checked their T&C (quote: ' all deliveries will be made to your doorstep (should you live in a block of flats then delivery will be made to the first door of the building ' ) unquote) I called Beds Direct customers services and complained. The lady on the phone seemed very concerned and promised to investigate. I called back a few hours later and was told my query was forwarded to a team leader and that customer services won ' t be dealing with this. I have asked whether I could have a name of the person dealing with my query and, of course, she refused. No one has contacted me, no one apologized. Terrible experience!
