General Comments

I returned from a week on the MS Monica Nile Cruise at the beginning of June and want to go back - it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life - made even more special by the fantastic staff aboard the ship.

Our cabin was lovely - bright and spacious and with a nice french window. Air conditoning was a lifesaver!! Clean and tidy bathroom with great daily maid service.

We went All Inclusive and wow am I glad we did - drinks were expensive on board, but apparently this is normal in Egypt on the Nile. We only paid £40 each to upgrade to the all inclusive through our travel agent Preferred Egypt. They said it was worthwhile and they weren't wrong!! We had all hot and cold drinks, spirits, water and juices at breakfast all included - fabulous!

The ship was clean and tidy and the lobby area really has the wow factor!

The staff were friendly and helpful. You cannot grumble about the tips - about £4 a day - as they work so hard!

The food was good - there was a fair choice every day and even for a fussy eater like me there was always something I liked. It wasn't exactly gourmet - but hey, this is Egypt!!

We had all the trips included within our price and for that I am glad - wouldn't have wanted to haggle with all the tour guides at the docks!! Loved the Aswan Dam, that really was the highlight for me - oh and Karnak Temple! We did the optional day trip to Abu Simbel and it was impressive, but a very long day. The guide was excellent, and his English was very good too.

Overall we had a fabulous week, I'd recommend the Monica to friends and family. It is an Egyptian 5* deluxe rating, not maybe the same as international 5* deluxe but certainly very very good - especially considering the low price we paid!

If you are considering a Nile Cruise, go on the Monica - I just hopr you enjoy it as much as I did!!
