General Comments

To say that the Travelodge at Chippenham Leigh Dalamere M4 Westbound has poor customer service would quite frankly be an understatement.
We arrived around 12 noon and asked whether there was a room available earlier for the extra cost. The receptionist / housekeeper (dont know what she was and she didnt wear an I.D badge) greeted us with a frown and a 'what'. After huffing and puffing and storming around she said there was 1 room available. We thanked her and handed her the fee of £10.When we asked for a receipt she literally shouted (no exageration honest!) 'we dont issue receipts, I have dropped what I was doing to go and ask for your room early'. Seriously, we were nothing but polite and couldnt understand this woman's behaviour. She threw the £10 back at us and told us to come back at 3 and stormed out of the room slamming the door.

We pressed the buzzer and she returned about 5 mins later. I asked her why we couldnt have the room early and what was the problem with the receipt. She continued to rant at us and seemed unusually upset about being asked for a receipt?? We told her to forget about the receipt and we just wanted the room. When we asked her about parking fee (as services car park said it was only free for 2 hours) she mumbled something about putting a code into her computer. She returned a few minutes later and asked my husband whether he had put the code in, when he said he hadnt as he wasnt sure what she meant she said 'for god sake' and pulled a face at him that would suggest he had learning difficulties.
In addition to this she refused to accept card payement from our friend (the £10 fee) she said 'cash only'. We were suspicious of this! We asked if we could have her name....she refused to give it and said 'no'. (lol was she an employee??)
Ive never accounted such strange and hideous behaviour in any establishment.
