Bad Points

- You don't get delivery reports for text messages. I'm sure SMS is reliable, but it's very useful to see when your messages get there (in case a phone is switched off or not in reception). (There is a trick for getting delivery reports - google for it - but they're not real reports so they show up with your regular text messages.)


General Comments

I just switched from T-Mobile to O2, and I have my own recent phone so used their SIMplicity SIM-only package. At £10/month it's a bargain for what I use it for, and I really like the online customer service. In the first month I was a bit surprised that my bill was £15 but this turned out to be because I'd spent some time on an 0845 number and after doing some research I found that even O2's rate for this is good compared to the other providers. - Good coverage (better than T-Mobile anyway)

- The SIMplicity package really is simple to understand (no silly rules about spending some money on something to get some other benefit, and the daily internet cap is useful), and great value for money.

- The online billing system is great, it tells you precisely what calls you made and whether they were included in your minutes, how many minutes you have left this month, etc. This is not to say that O2's online billing is always good (my understanding is that the system varys by package), but for SIMplicity I can't fault it.

- Unlike T-Mobile, I'm not bombarded with text messages from my provider about stupid offers (except from a couple from T-Mobile even after I switched!)
