Good Points

Extremely clean, pool huge and again clean, staff more than helpful, food varied. Location perfect, good area for bars ect but not noisy at night. food and drink exceptional value for money even in the hotel, only 20 mins drive to the airport.

Bad Points

I wish we had booked 2 weeks instead of one!

General Comments

A friend and I arrived at 2oclock in the morning and were welcomed by friendly and smiling faces. Our room was spotless and had a balcony, safe (at the cost of £10 for the week) air conditioning (free), fridge, satilite tv, large wardrobe, table and chairs and the usual chests of drawers and somewhere to sit and do the make-up thing. the bathroom too was spotless and had shower, marble sink, huge mirror and a hairdryer. everything you could want. Our airj-conditioning was broken, but when we reported it, it was fixed IMMEDIATELY.
the pool was huge and again spotless, loads of loungers,(free) and a pool bar which opened up 1 day after we got there. It was manned constantly even though there were very few people round the pool. Most of the guests would go to the beautiful beach just 1 minute walk away.
We stayed bed and breakfast, and the breadfasts were a little odd but there was so much choice I defy anybody not to find something to eat. Hot cooked breakfast, although it was not your typical english. there were all sorts of breads, cerials, salads with fish and meat. I loved the pate, and little cakes! Do not, however, attempt to drink the coffee from the buffet unless you want hairs on your chest!
The value for money is unbelievably good. A litre of lager will cost you 50p and a glass of wine £1.20! the food is equally as cheap. One meal consisting of 4 courses and 2 bottles of wine came to 60 lev which works out to £30. £15 pounds each, over here in Jersey one bottle of wine is £15! If you don't overdo it you could dine on as little a fiver a day. Most bars are in 'happy hour' where you buy one drink and get another free. Beware though, not all drinks are included, check first. If you want to do the tours, book them from the local tour ops, as the official tours reps are more expensive, around a fiver more.
The food is varied and there are all the usual restaurants, but must try one in particular. It is called 'Bansko'. The have all sorts of food on the menu but the Bugarian dishes are the best. It was the restaurant for the best value for money, best food and bust customer service. We ended up going back serveral times before we left to come home.
the day we left, we paid to keep our room on and that only cost around £10 and then our bags were LOCKED in a room in reception until we needed them.
the drive to the resort is only 20-25 minutes away from the airport. The airport prices are in EUROS. so don't be mistaken by thinking you have a real bargin. You are better off buying cigarettes and alcohol in the local supermarkets. And of course there are the smoking rules....there are none, you can smoke inside everywhere, to the delight of my mate!
Lastly a work about the bulgarian people....Lovely.
