I purchased Insureandgo annual travel insurance to provide cover for a couple of trips I had planned. I am one of those diligent people who always read the policy summary at the minimum before purchasing insurance, so I thought I had bought adequate cover, especially since I purchased their 'black' level. While on a trip, I had my backpack stolen, including clothes and my prescription glasses. Since I have very poor eyesight and few pairs of contacts left, I had no choice but to either purchase a new pair or some contact lenses. I chose the contact lenses since they were cheaper, which I assumed my insurance company would prefer.

Upon returning home, I made a claim, when I was told that my £300 glasses were not covered by my policy at all and neither were the contact lenses I purchased. They also only paid out for the other items that had been stolen (iPod, camera etc) based on a USED value which THEY determined, which in total, left me about £600 out of pocket.

I would NEVER again purchase insurance from this company.
